The wineries listed here satisfy five criteria: 1) have at least 10 acres of land in Florida that grows fruit (grape or otherwise) for making wine at the winery's Florida facility; 2) sell the wine (duh!); 3) produce or sell less than 250,000 gallons of wine annually; 4) are open to the public for tours, tastings, and sales at least 30 hours per week; and 5) make an annual application to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for recognition as a Florida Farm Winery.  On the rare occasion where a web address is unavailable, a phone number has been provided instead.

From the Horse's Mouth

Here's a new feature:  information straight from our friends at the amazing wineries of Florida!  This month, we feature Miami Winery--yes, a winery in Miami!  Here are some articles that President and CEO of Miami Winery, Alexis Paredes, thought you would appreciate.  And we concur!

Miami's first winery (permitted in 2002) has a  truly colorful history that dates back three generations. It's Exotic Tropical Fruit wines are not only made from Miami's native raw fruits but also nourished by a Cuban family who has invented a whole new way to appreciate wine.

Already winning top awards from coast-to-coast, http://miamiwinery.com/awards.html Miami Winery has impressed important wine judges and prominent chefs with its unique product. We have even invented a whole new guava fruits species that yield the highest quality aroma and sweetness for our wines. There is much more to share with you...

Here are several stories that have covered Miami Winery's success:

Other Florida Wineries

The wineries listed here may or may not produce some or all of the fruit they use to make their wines.  It is a safe bet that if the winery is producing a beverage made from grapes or fruits that cannot be grown in Florida, they are importing the fruit, the juice, or both.  Again, when a web address is unavailable, a phone number has been provided instead.  There are several wineries that had no web site or phone number available.  They are not listed here at all.

Wine Tours and Vacations

Unfortunately, there are no Florida wine tours or Florida wine vacation sites at this time.  The industry  just does not have that much of a stronghold.  Face it, when you
think "American Wine," you're more likely to think "Napa" than "Naples." There are plenty of American wine tours to be had, however.  Check  out these links to sites that will help you put together your perfect domestic wine vacation.
